Boarding

BOARDING PRICES INCREASED AS OF 10/1/23

State College Veterinary Hospital also offers boarding for our existing clients.  Our knowledgeable staff can care for your animal while you are away.  All animals are housed inside the hospital which has central heating and air conditioning. We do NOT have indoor/outdoor runs- dogs are leash walked outside daily.  Dogs are kept separate from the cats and are walked two or three times daily.

Boarding Requirements and Prices

  • We require that you provide proof from a licensed veterinarian that your animal is current for protection against RABIES, DISTEMPER (DHLPPC) and BORDETELLA (Kennel Cough) for dogs. As of September 1, 2018, we are also requiring the bivalent (H3N2/H3N8) Influenza vaccine due to confirmed cases of K-9 Influenza in Pennsylvania.
  • We require that you bring proof from a licensed veterinarian that your animal is current for protection against RABIES and DISTEMPER(FVRCP) upper respiratory for cats.
  • We recommend that you bring your pet's regular food to feed while boarding to reduce the risk of GI issues from abrupt diet change.  We offer Purina EN food if you do not bring your own diet.

We have bowls, blankets and litter boxes for your animal's stay.  However we would be glad to take a labeled toy or small blanket to make your animal more comfortable during their stay.  We prefer not to take large dog beds because they are difficult, if not impossible, for us to clean.  We are not responsible for any lost or damaged blankets or toys while they are here.

Please bring any appropriate medications for your pet's stay along with detailed instructions.  There is a $3.00 to $6.00 fee for us to medicate your pet while they stay at our kennel.  The cost depends on how many medications your pet needs.  Since our primary business is a veterinary hospital, our staff is trained to meet the needs of your four legged family member while you are away. Special need animals include the sick, elderly, or diabetic animals that need the monitoring and care of not just our technicians but also our doctors.

 Cat Condo Boarding

Our cat condos feature a spacious area with two perches for our guest to make themselves at home.  There is even a porthole leading into a separate area where they can use the restroom in private.  The condos not only offer cats a spacious area to enjoy, but are big enough for any of their siblings to also stay with them, making their stay less stressful.
